{"id":107,"date":"2021-06-23T13:20:43","date_gmt":"2021-06-23T13:20:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cctech.mycareerfocus.org\/fall-2021-volume-1-issue-1\/central-carolina-technical-college-names-dr-kevin-pollock-as-9th-president\/"},"modified":"2021-07-22T18:58:14","modified_gmt":"2021-07-22T18:58:14","slug":"dr-kevin-pollock-named-9th-president","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cctech.mycareerfocus.org\/fall-2021-volume-1-issue-1\/dr-kevin-pollock-named-9th-president\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Kevin Pollock Named 9th President"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">After a nationwide search, the Central Carolina Technical College Area Commission chose Dr. Kevin Pollock as the next leader of Central Carolina Technical College.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">\u201cIt is my honor to accept the position of president at Central Carolina Technical College,\u201d Pollock said. \u201cI look forward to working with the area commission, faculty and staff, to move the college forward and to greater heights in the coming years.\u201d Pollock replaced Interim President Terry Booth who returned to her position as vice president for business affairs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-202 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/cctech.mycareerfocus.org\/fall-2021-volume-1-issue-1\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/07\/President-240x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cctech.mycareerfocus.org\/fall-2021-volume-1-issue-1\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/07\/President-240x300.jpg 240w, https:\/\/cctech.mycareerfocus.org\/fall-2021-volume-1-issue-1\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/07\/President.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 240px) 100vw, 240px\" \/>Pollock was formerly a Senior Consultant at the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and served as president at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">With more than 38 years of experience in education, Pollock has held high-level positions at various community and four-year colleges. He is an expert on student success models, a frequent speaker at conferences and colleges across the nation and is the author of more than 20 book chapters and articles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">Since his start at CCTC in January, Pollock has spent time getting to know the community, meeting business leaders and familiarizing himself with faculty and staff. His short term goals include a review of programs, divisions and enrollment efforts at the college.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">Pollock holds a doctorate in Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts in Education and Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Michigan University.<span
